With typical ozone generator rental rates of £40 - £120/day for portable ozone generators (depending on ozone output), it is easy to understand why an outright purchase of one of our low-priced ozone generators is the most economical and practical solution to resolving recurring problems (e.g. smoking, cooking & pet odours). Consider the following factors from a practical and cost perspective:
- For very stubborn odours, a number of successive treatments may be required – so the hire cost of an ozone generator are duplicated for each successive hire period.
- The hire period commences upon receipt of the hire unit and ceases once it is returned to the hire company. It may be impractical or unsuitable to commence use of the equipment when it is received by you, so you may pay for an extended hire period.
- Many odours are recurring because they are re-introduced e.g. smoking, cooking, pet and mould odours etc., so this would be impractical and cost-prohibitive to hire an ozone generator.
- Each time that the ozone generator is hired, the customer pays the forward and return carriage and insurance costs.
- Where a number of rooms require treatment, only one room can be treated at a time (with a single ozone generator), so this increases the likelihood of an extended hire period and costs.
- Owning your ozone generator gives you freedom to treat when you want and as often as you need at no extra cost.
Example to demonstrate the cost consideration of the decision to Rent:
Assume the rental of a 1000 mg/hr ozone generator (e.g. our AT1000ST)
Typical hire rate : £40-£50+VAT per day (say £45+VAT per day)
Carriage cost (incl. insurance) : £12 + VAT each way
Purchase cost of AT1000ST : £415+VAT
Scenario 1:
For the simplest case of a one-off treatment of a single room where the treatment is carried out the day after receipt of the unit and returned the day after the treatment, the total ozone generator rental would be £159+VAT (i.e. 38% of the purchase cost).
Scenario 2:
A small house is treated over a period of 3 days (and allowing for delivery and return days). Hire period would be 5 days. Total cost would be £250+VAT (i.e. 60% of the purchase cost).
Scenario 3:
The same as scenario 2, but a single re-treatment is required at a later stage. Total cost would be £500+VAT (i.e. 120% of the purchase cost).
Scenario 4:
Consider the case where ongoing treatments are required for recurring problems e.g. smoking, pet, cooking odours. The rental cost is clearly prohibitive even for the simplest single day rentals.
If the Ozone generator is going to be used by landlords, letting & estate agents, or where cooking and pet odours or musty smells need to be eliminated, the evidence is clear - PURCHASE your own ozone generator.
